Finally got one and really like it!

Managed to finally lay my hands on a 90 half zip. I wasn’t sure about the zipper, but even in the short time I’ve had it I really like it. I wear glasses so I can put it on and take it off without removing them. I’m 6’2” and about 235lbs right now. 46 inch chest. Got the XXL. Fits great through the chest, little loose in the sleeves (which I like), and the sleeve length is good—doesn’t overstretch the sleeve to use the thumb holes. It is a bit longer in the body than I’d ideally like. Even at 6’2 the bottom hem is a bit below my hips. I know they say you want a snug fit for best thermal performance and I have a Farpointe Outdoor Gear Alpha 90 in size XL which probably theoretically fits better (is snugger—I’m right at the top end of not fitting in it) but between the two like the Senchi better. Little bit of an apples-to-oranges comparison. I’d need to try the Farpointe in XXL. Got the Sienna color which I really like. Might as well look good too, right? Senchi included a laundry/storage bag which was a bonus I wasn’t expecting and a cute sticker with a Pika on it. Overall really happy with it.

It's incredibly lightweight and it's a nice touch that they ship it in a mesh bag to use for laundering but the Polar-Tec A90 fabric is incredibly fragile. I wore it for the first time on a 3 1/2 mile, 90 minute hike up an established trail that I hike a dozen times a year and I fear that I may have ruined it by lightly coming in contact with bushes. I wasn't bushwhacking, I was just walking.
The contact I made wouldn't have left even a slight scratch on my 65 year old skin. I think that I've found the line between ultralight gear at any cost and unreasonable expectations from something so lightweight.

Good Piece/Near Perfect Fit

I tried Ordered a Senchi a few years ago in L and it was too small/right in the shoulders. Fast forward to the recent launch and I ordered the new (Feb 2025) model in sizes L and XL. The roomier sizing is much better in me (6'3, 180#, 41" chest) and I'm keeping the L. Only gripe with the L is is I wish the hood "height" was a little taller and didn't make it look like I have yoked traps it's so tight. The XL solves this but has it's own problems. Sleeves on the L are great for my longer arms. The XL wasn't a horrible fit tbh, just had a ton of excess torso fabric and forearm fabric, little blousey for a mid layer IMO. Now I can't wait for a 120g version with a kangaroo pocket now. LFG

The product I was looking forward to has arrived. As expected, the update is great and I'm looking forward to going out into the field. I do regret that I didn't choose a brighter color.

Alright

I previously purchased a senchi crewneck xs in the past and it was too small. So I returned and ordered a small. This time I ordered a small and it’s too big. I’m 115 lbs and 5’3” and the sleeves are too long. I’m also disappointed in the color. I ordered the lichen and unfortunately it wasn’t as green as I thought but more Mountain Dew pickle vibes. I would really love to support this brand because I love the fabric for backpacking but the inconsistencies for the price are quite annoying.
